IRISS VPDS Ultrasonic Sensor
The IRISS VPDS ultrasonic sensor houses the transducer inside the enclosure: it is mounted on the enclosure with the ceramic capsule facing the equipment, leaving a 3.5 mm jack accessible from the outside to which the ultrasonic detector is connected.
Unlike traditional inspection methods that rely on joints and slits, the VPDS eliminates extraneous ultrasonic noise and always focuses on the same listening point, ensuring that measurements are repeatable. It allows for the detection of corona, tracking, treeing, winding delamination, and loose connections without opening the panel.
