FLIR Systems has introduced its new FLIR A400 and FLIR A700 Thermal Imaging Camera Series, a fixed camera solution that provides the monitoring capabilities needed to accurately detect and identify potential thermal problems in manufacturing and industrial processes.

The new FLIR A400/A700 series of thermal automation cameras incorporate the EBT (Elevated Body Temperature) function in their equipment, which allows correction of deviations in the apparent temperature of people caused by environmental conditions. This application is especially useful for the detection of feverish persons by thermography.
This technique of measuring body temperature with thermography predates the current COVID-19 Coronavirus crisis and its effectiveness is demonstrated by the fact that it has been used at airport access controls and in crowded areas since the first SARS-1 crises in 2002.
FLIR A400 and FLIR A700: thermal imaging cameras suitable for a wide range of disciplines
It is possible to purchase the intelligent version of this sensor, which can be programmed via web service and has digital outputs. Thanks to the implementation of this intelligent thermal sensor, together with an easy configuration capability, it can be applied in a wide range of disciplines: manufacturing and quality process control, production lines, waste management, facility maintenance, safety controls or fire prevention, among many others.
On the other hand, the FLIR A400 and FLIR A700 thermal cameras have different field of view options, multi-transmission functions, motorized focus control and optional compressed radiometric transmission function via Wi-Fi. All these options in the new models can take care of the most complex problems related to remote surveillance targets.
FLIR A400 and FLIR A700: smart thermal sensor cameras for industrial monitoring and fever detection
Thanks to their application for remote monitoring, their accuracy of ±2°C (±3.6°F) or ±2% reading and their superior image quality with a resolution of up to 640×480 (307,200 pixels), the new FLIR A400/A700 cameras are also suitable for elevated skin temperature (fever) monitoring, so, as mentioned above, they can also be used to deal with the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. In addition, continuous calibration against BlackBody will be possible for the new A400/A700 cameras.
