At the Dangjin Complex in South Korea, this automated fire detection and early fire suppression system is using 7 FLIR A310 thermal cameras. The thermal imaging cameras are constantly monitoring the coal temperatures and, if the set maximum temperatures are exceeded, the system stops the conveyor belt and activates sprinklers above the area with too high a temperature, thus cooling and dampening the potential fire source.
