At Sabina Gökçen Airport in Istanbul, FLIR A310 thermal imaging cameras are used to improve the safety of baggage claim belts at airports. Every year children and adults suffer accidents when they fall onto the baggage claim belts and enter the cargo circuit. Thanks to the difference between body temperature and luggage bag temperatures, a thermal camera viewing the belt can detect when a person is present.
