Specialist consultancy NEXCO-West uses a scientific-grade FLIR thermal imaging camera, the FLIR A6701sc MWIR, to take high-resolution thermal images from the car while driving at high speed. With the camera at 10 frames per second, they can record a sharp thermal image every two meters at highway cruising speed. The camera is connected to a laptop computer inside the vehicle that performs real-time analysis and detects areas of potential delamination.
