BP Chemicals uses OGI thermography for gas detection to improve safety at its facilities


BP is one of the main producers of acetic acid from methanol. The process uses CO, which is highly toxic. BP inspects the facility for leaks using a FLIR GasFindIR HSX thermal imaging camera. Through these routine inspections, BP is able to detect CO leaks that are small enough to be missed by workers' personal detectors, but which without the use of thermal imaging would not have been identified and repaired.
