The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in Berlin uses a FLIR SC4000 medium-wave thermal imaging camera to investigate materials and components for handling and transporting pure oxygen. Using the FLIR SC4000 thermal camera they are able to detect the temperature increase that occurs in the experimental tank due to the reaction of the tested material with oxygen. By means of thermography they can test the reactivity with different compositions and at different temperatures.
