The article presents the use case of gas detection thermography using the FLIR GasFindIR GF306 thermal imaging camera. One of the main advantages of gas detection thermography over sniffers is the possibility of remote inspections and the ease of scanning installations. A sniffer is effective for checking a suspect spot for a SF6 leak, but for inspecting an entire facility, a gas detection thermal imaging camera is much more effective.
