Korean scientists are developing an active thermography methodology for nondestructive testing of wind turbine blades. This technique, which uses high-speed photonic thermographic cameras such as the FLIR SC5200, is based on exciting the sample by means of an energy source. If the sample has a homogeneous composition and distribution, its heat dissipation will also be homogeneous. The active thermography technique analyzes this heat distribution for anomalies, which indicate anomalies in the material.
