Development of optoelectronic technology using FLIR thermal imaging cameras from R&D


A silicon photonic network unit, expected to be the next generation of fiber-optic networks, is being developed at the National Tyndall Institute, Ireland. The research team is using a FLIR X6540sc thermal imaging camera with FLIR ResearchIR Max R&D software to study the thermal behavior of the system as it affects the performance, stability and lifetime of the device.
