In the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park in the Philippines, they use thermography to study the bat colonies in this large subway cave complex. Thanks to the thermographic camera, they can inspect large colonies. Both when they are sleeping and when they leave the cave. These studies make it possible to assess the impact of tourist visits on the subway ecosystem and make decisions to mitigate damage.
