PressureVent® pressure relief dampers
The PV range of double acting pressure relief dampers is a new development in the field of pressure relief damper systems for gas extinguishing systems. The dampers are gravity balanced to ensure foolproof operation, and are designed to provide validated high efficiency of the free vent area at all pressures. The pressure vent blades begin to open between 60 and 80 Pascals and are designed to open fully at 125 Pascals pressure in both directions. This special design provides more than 75% free vent area at 125 Pascals pressure, which is measured at the above reference pressure. This means fewer dampers are needed, smaller holes, less construction work, smaller dampers, and a wider variety of sizes are now offered.
The range has a fire resistance rating of 2 hours (3 hours for PV150 and PV300 models) according to EN1364-1, including certification and verification of its operation. Detailed measurement reports are available upon request. The PV range is supplied in two kits: one for internal use and one for external use. The PV damper is for internal use only and the PV damper with a grille is used for external ventilation. Since the damper opens in both directions, the external louver can be provided in a fixed or dynamic (more weather resistant) louver.
